TCU students receive their scholarship allowance

By: Alona Ambat and Zieralene Manalo

The awaited moment of TCU students has come. The City Educational Assistance Allowance for eligible Taguig City University students was released on December 13-17, 2021. The Over-the-Counter Scholarship Allowance Release was held at Senator Renato Compañero Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School. It was a part of the Scholarship Program of former Taguig City Mayor, now a congresswoman, Laarni 'Lani' Cayetano, where she aims for a fair opportunity to study, find work, and have a brighter future for all Taguigeños.

The release of the allowance was divided into 4 time slots per day and was served by 12 counters to ensure fast transaction. The students are encouraged to come 30 minutes ahead of their time slot, carrying with them the listed requirements. Late-comers were not allowed entry as it is a way to teach them the value of punctuality and discipline. However, those who are notified but failed to claim their allowances on their schedules were given a chance on December 20, 9-11AM only and after which the money is returned to the City Treasury. Allowances are distributed twice per school year.

The Taguig City Government's generous initiative demonstrates their concern for Taguigenos' future. Even in the midst of a pandemic, they continue to provide their best service. They not only provide high-quality education, but also ensure that they can assist in financial matters, ensuring the family's livelihood. The city government of Taguig did not fail to provide for the needs of the constituency. Every student feels great satisfaction every time an allowance is given and as an evidence, there are images circulating on the Taguig Scholarships social media page that capture everyone's smiles as a token of eternal thanks to the people of Taguig City who led this help. It was an excellent work from our devoted Mayor and his team.
